Software Engineer II - Front End

As AI transforms our industry and creates new opportunities for developers, we want to expand our team of highly talented engineers. We are looking for front-end and full-stack engineers to help contribute to our professional developer website building platform. We are early in our journey to innovate on Power Pages product, integrate with other Power products (PBI, PVA, etc.) and shape it into a thriving standalone customer-facing business to drive incremental revenue and value for Power Platform.

There is an exciting opportunity to join the Power Pages team, building a new version of the product that helps citizen makers and professional developers build compelling web experiences! We incorporate user research studies and customer feedback into the Product Backlog daily and you will be working closely with your peers, the Design team and PM counterparts to make these real.

Power Platform is a strategic new growth area for Microsoft, but more importantly, it is a disruptor technology that is giving “Citizen access” to broader set of users in an enterprise, to create next generation of business productivity software via radically simplified experience and without requiring extensive and costly training. It is transforming careers of ‘citizen developers’ and making pro-developers far more productive and helping IT finally innovate at the pace that their businesses expect. To boost Power Platform to scale to millions of 'citizen developers', we are investing in Power Pages – an early emergent-stage product within Power Platform suite currently used by customers to enable collaboration with users both internal and external to their organizations.

We are looking for a Software Engineer II to join the Power Pages Maker Studio team, where we are building an AI-first website creation experience. This role is at the forefront of enabling low-code makers to design and deliver professional-grade websites in Power Pages. You will help create experiences that leverage multimodal interactions—such as chat, images, and other AI-driven inputs—so makers can easily build sites that align with their organizational goals while benefiting from the trust, reliability, and compliance of Microsoft and the Power Platform ecosystem.

As part of this team, you will work in highly agile workstreams, collaborating across multiple teams to deliver end-to-end features for the maker persona. This role offers a unique opportunity to upskill in cutting-edge AI technologies, including working with models like GPT and Claude, while applying and expanding your web development expertise. You’ll also learn from some of the best AI engineers in the industry, shaping the next generation of intelligent, low-code web development tools.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and innovate AI-first features for Power Pages Maker Studio, enabling low-code makers to build professional websites.
• Investigate, prototype, and experiment with new ideas to push the boundaries of AI-driven low-code experiences.
• Collaborate across teams in highly agile workstreams to deliver end-to-end features for the maker persona.
• Ensure scalability, reliability, and compliance in all solutions, leveraging Microsoft and Power Platform standards.
• Integrate cutting-edge AI technologies (e.g., GPT, Claude) into the maker experience to enhance productivity and creativity.
• Deliver customer-oriented solutions that prioritize usability, accessibility, and real-world maker needs.
• Continuously learn and upskill in AI technologies while contributing to technical design and architecture discussions.
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with building Web Applications with front-end technologies like TypeScript, Angular, React/Redux.
• Proven experience delivering products and solutions at scale, ensuring they are performant, reliable, and accessible
  

: Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings:

• Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
  
  

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python
• OR equivalent experience.
• Experience with AI systems and models, Python, as well as prompt engineering.
• Proven track record of delivering end-to-end full stack systems including front-end, middleware, databases, etc.
• Demonstrated solid architectural skills through the design and delivery of robust, scalable solutions.
