Who You'll Work With

You will be based in Gurugram office as part of McKinsey Global Capabilities & Services Pvt Limited (MGCS).

You will be working with a group that is responsible for providing developers from our User Facing Tribes with new enterprise data by consuming source data, storing it in central repositories, and building consumption capabilities.

This will involve all business value chain activities from understanding product needs to product development to on-going maintenance and enhancement.

Your Impact

In this role, you will play a key part in developing and maintaining applications using Embedded Steampunk (ABAP Cloud). You will design and implement solutions leveraging the RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) for S/4HANA and SAP BTP, while also integrating generative AI capabilities into SAP applications to enable intelligent business processes and enhance user experiences.

You will utilize SAP Build tools (Build Apps, Build Process Automation, Build Work Zone) to create low-code/no-code applications and improve user interaction layers. Collaborating closely with functional consultants and business users, you will gather and analyze requirements, translating them into technical specifications. Your work will focus on building scalable, maintainable, and high-performance ABAP applications aligned with clean core principles and cloud extensibility strategies.

You will ensure compliance with SAP best practices for extensibility, security, and performance optimization. Additionally, you will manage the full application lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and support. By creating technical documentation and conducting code reviews, you will uphold coding standards and quality. Your Qualifications and Skills

• 5+ years of hands-on SAP ABAP development experience.
• Strong knowledge of Embedded Steampunk (Embedded ABAP Cloud Environment).
• Proficiency in RESTful ABAP Programming Model (RAP) and ABAP CDS Views, Behaviour Definitions, and Business Services.
• Experience with SAP Build Suite (especially SAP Build Apps and SAP Build Process Automation).
• Good understanding of integrating generative AI services with SAP applications (like SAP AI Core, Joule, or external AI APIs).
• Good experience with SAP Fiori Elements and OData services.
• Familiarity with SAP Business Technology Platform (SAP BTP) services.
• Knowledge of clean core principles and side-by-side and in-app extensibility concepts.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work in Agile/Scrum teams.
• SAP Certification in ABAP for SAP BTP or SAP Extension Suite.
• Exposure to CAP (Cloud Application Programming) Model is an added advantage.
