The Work You'll Do

At Sovos, we deliver enterprise-grade solutions that power global tax compliance for some of the world's largest organizations. As a Software Engineer, you'll launch your career designing, implementing, and supporting system-to-system integrations between Sovos platforms, client ERPs, and third-party applications.

This is a client-facing, integration-focused role where you'll work alongside experienced engineers to learn how enterprise systems connect and communicate. You'll contribute to integration projects, participate in requirement gathering, assist with solution implementation, and support testing and deployment. You'll collaborate with clients, internal product teams, and external integration partners while building real-world technical expertise in a global environment.

More Specifically, You Will

• Support integration projects under the guidance of senior engineers, contributing to technical design and implementation
• Assist in gathering and analyzing business and technical requirements from clients and translating them into integration solutions
• Help design and implement API-based integrations (REST/SOAP) between Sovos platforms and client ERP systems
• Provide technical support during integration onboarding, UAT, and post-production go-live phases
• Collaborate with client teams and third-party integration partners to support timely delivery and issue resolution
• Troubleshoot and resolve integration, data, and system issues across development and production environments
• Validate data flows, mappings, and transformations between source and target systems
• Document integration designs, interface specifications, and support procedures
• Work with internal engineering, QA, database, and product teams to deliver reliable integration solutions
• Monitor production integrations and assist with incident analysis and root cause resolution
• Learn and apply security, compliance, and performance standards across all integration work
  
  

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent practical experience)
• 0-1 years of experience in software development, integration, or related technical roles (internships and academic projects count!)
• Basic understanding of APIs (REST/SOAP) and how systems communicate
• Foundational knowledge of programming concepts and at least one programming language (Java, Python, C#, or similar)
• Familiarity with JSON and XML data formats
• Basic SQL knowledge for querying and validating data
• Interest in learning ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics
• Strong problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn new technologies
• Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
• Collaborative team player who thrives in a global, cross-functional environment
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS preferred) is a plus
• Due to client contractual obligations, the successful candidate will be asked to clear a background check and drug test upon hire
