Software Engineer III - ESX Engineer

As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Global ESX Infrastructure team, you will have the opportunity to advance your career by supporting large-scale enterprise systems. You will help build and run reliable, scalable, and secure ESX virtualization platforms, combining software and systems engineering to deliver creative solutions and promote operational excellence in a dynamic environment.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environments
• Analyze system performance and implement optimization strategies for ESX hosts and virtual machines
• Set up and manage monitoring tools and alerting systems to proactively address issues
• Ensure ESX environments adhere to security policies and compliance requirements
• Add to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
• Monitor, maintain, and improve reliability and availability of ESX environments
• Respond to and resolve incidents, performing root cause analysis and implementing preventive measures
• Develop and maintain automation scripts for deployment, configuration, and remediation tasks
  
  

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
• Strong experience with VMware ESX/ESXi and vCF administration and troubleshooting
• Proficient in scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or PowerShell
• Hands-on experience with incident management and troubleshooting in large-scale environments
• Solid understanding of networking, storage, and virtualization concepts
• Familiarity with Agile development processes and automated testing
• Experience with monitoring tools such as vRealize Log Insight or vRealize Aria Operations
  
  

• Experience designing and implementing Infrastructure as Code solutions
• Knowledge of automation frameworks and CI/CD pipelines
• Strong communication and documentation skills
• Exposure to financial services or regulated environments
