Position Summary & Key Areas of Responsibility:

As a Software Engineer III, your primary responsibility will be to design and develop high-quality software solutions as a key member of a motivated team of engineers. You will serve as a "Software Engineering" role on an Agile team.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop high-quality software that meets requirements, promotes re-use of components, and facilitates ease of support.
• Diagnose, isolate, and implement remedies for system failures caused by software errors.
• Identify and implement process improvements in engineering practices.
• Utilize software-based system maintenance and tracking tools.
• Provide input and technical content for technical documentation, user help materials, and customer training.
• Conduct unit tests, track problems, and implement changes to ensure adherence to test plans and functional/non-functional requirements.
• Analyze, design, and implement software mechanisms to improve code stability, performance, and reusability. Participate and lead code review sessions.
• Create high-fidelity estimates of work efforts.
• Apply good debugging and troubleshooting techniques to resolve software defects.
• Create high-quality documentation, including functional specifications, component test specifications, and integration test specifications.
• Develop and improve test-driven development practices.
• Learn and apply test methodologies, processes, procedures, standards, and tools used by the team.
• Practice Agile development principles with Scrum.
• Use and improve Agile tools used in development.
  
  

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in web development.
• Strong understanding of software development and quality assurance best practices.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to understand business and technical requirements.
• Ability to document requirements in the form of word documents and/or UML diagrams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Experience working with one of the cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, Google).
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with Designer Specialty Retail and Food & Drug POS solutions (payments, eWIC, loyalty, promotions, etc.).
• Experience with POS and self-checkout integrations.
• Experience with cloud development.
