Software Engineer III, AI/ML, Payments Risk Management

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, or 1 year of experience with an advanced degree.
• 1 year of experience with ML infrastructure (e.g., model deployment, model evaluation, optimization, data processing, debugging).
• 1 year of experience with core GenAI concepts (e.g., Large Language Model (LLM), Multi-Modal, Large Vision Models).
• Experience with text, image, video, or audio generation.
• Experience with machine learning algorithms, analytics, tensorflow.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or a related technical field.
• 2 years of experience with data structures or algorithms.
• Experience solving large-scale problems with machine learning in product development environments.

In this role, you will detect and prevent fraud across Google's paid services by building secure Consumer Payments (Google Pay) systems that enable growth, making payments effortless for legitimate users while blocking fraudsters.

Whether it is paying online with Autofill, using tap and pay in stores, or using the Google Pay app, the Payments team at Google is focused on making payments simple, seamless, and secure. In addition to consumer payment technologies, the Payments team also powers the money movement between Google and its consumers and businesses.

Responsibilities

• Enhance documentation and educational content by incorporating product updates and user feedback.
• Develop Generative AI solutions using ML infrastructure while optimizing data preparation and performance.
• Analyze payments system data to detect fraud patterns and abuse tactics.
• Build efficient fraud detection models using supervised/unsupervised techniques and graph mining.
• Deploy trained models and conduct post-launch performance analysis.
