Software Engineer III (Java/Data Driven)

As part of the Data Engineering team, you'll play a critical role in shaping the entry point of our entire API platform. From scaling infrastructure and enhancing security to building tools that streamline onboarding and speed up product delivery, you'll help drive performance, flexibility, and innovation.

You'll work on a mix of greenfield projects and existing systems, using a broad tech stack across Java, AWS, CI/CD, and software development. This team truly does it all, and has a unique, system-wide view of our platform.

What you'll do

• Deliver high-quality, scalable, and well-tested code to enhance platform features and performance.
• Collaborate closely with Product, QA, and internal users to create a seamless, world-class developer experience.
• Take ownership across the full development lifecycle—from infrastructure to production support.
• Independently and collaboratively work across multiple teams to ensure smooth service delivery.
• Optimize system performance and troubleshoot complex issues efficiently.
• Design, develop, test, and document new features with a focus on high availability and reliability.
• Provide accurate effort estimates and support releases through thorough planning and documentation.

What you'll bring

• 5+ years of hands-on software development experience with strong expertise in Java and core programming concepts
• Proven experience in building and optimizing RESTful APIs and HTTP-based services
• Solid understanding of distributed, concurrent systems and performance tuning
• Familiarity with event-driven architectures and containerized environments using Kubernetes
• Experience deploying and operating applications on AWS
• Bonus: Experience with DropWizard, Spring Boot, Python, and Terraform for infrastructure as code
