Overview

1. Core Responsibilities
Cloud Platform Engineering

• Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud infrastructure on Azure and AWS, leveraging best practices in availability, resilience, and observability.
• Build and manage foundational components including Landing Zones, VPCs/VNETs, IAM, logging, and monitoring pipelines.
• Lead development and version control of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, ARM, or CloudFormation, integrating with CI/CD pipelines.

• Automate cloud provisioning, deployments, and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery.
• Ensure automated guardrails and compliance checks through policy-as-code.

• Apply cloud-native security practices including IAM, KMS, secrets management, and network segmentation.
• Enforce security baselines and compliance frameworks (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, NIST, GDPR).
• Collaborate with InfoSec and platform teams to embed security in every layer of the stack.

• Design and maintain centralized logging, monitoring, and alerting systems using tools like CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog.
• Enable SRE practices including SLAs, SLOs, error budgets, and proactive incident management.
• Participate in on-call rotations and own incident response and RCA processes when required.

• Partner with architects, developers, and QA to ensure infrastructure supports application scalability and resilience.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge sharing across teams.
• Stay updated with emerging technologies and recommend improvements to tooling and processes.
