Mitratech is seeking a Senior Fullstack Software Engineer to contribute to the next phase of growth with our company’s brands and product portfolio.  The ideal candidate for this critical position will contribute high quality software and engineering expertise as a technical leader with our talented engineering group. Your contributions will focus on our suite of HR SaaS products.  

This position reports to the Software Engineering Manager and collaborates with senior leadership from the product and engineering departments.

What you’ll do:  

The team you will join focuses on delivering high quality, well tested, secure, scalable, software that delivers exceptional experiences for our clients.  This is a great opportunity to join a growing company, be part of an excellent team, architect solutions to complex problems, and deliver valuable features where clean code matters.   

You will:  

• Possess extensive subject matter expertise in the team’s codebase and platform. 

• Write clean, production-ready code that is easily understood, thoroughly tested, and sets a standard for peers. 

• Serve as a leader in the on-call rotation, responding promptly to production issues with a focus on rapid remediation. 

• Demonstrate leadership in teamwork, clear communication, and consistent availability. 

• Write highly secure code, avoiding OWASP vulnerabilities, and possess a deep understanding of secure API practices and data validation. 

• Lead and participate in agile development, taking charge of sprint planning, accurate task estimation, and contributing to the breakdown of epics. 

• Identify and address complex technical challenges, potential bottlenecks, and dependencies that may inhibit project deliveries. 

• Establish and maintain robust observability, monitoring, and logging practices to ensure proactive detection and response to quality issues or outages. 

• Provide mentorship and guidance to assist teammates in resolving complex problems and navigating design/architecture challenges. 

• Foster and exemplify an excellent engineering culture grounded in trust, accountability, character, and honesty. 

• Seek feedback and deliver constructive criticism with tact and empathy, actively contributing to mentorship without ego. 

• Proactively drive strategic forward momentum for the team, taking ownership of new tasks and stories. 

• Lead and conduct comprehensive code reviews, ensuring the highest quality deliverables for the team. 

Your Qualifications:  

• Education & Experience: 

• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience: Emphasis in engineering, data science, computer science or information systems is preferred. 

• 5+ Years: In Software Engineering with SaaS applications 

• Technical Skills: 

• Java and React: Expert in Java and Spring, with extensive hands-on experience in React.js. 

• Full Stack Development: Proficient in both server-side and client-side components, adept at designing RESTful APIs for seamless integration. 

• Front-End Technologies: Mastery of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience in responsive design. 

• Database Knowledge: Strong familiarity with relational databases (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgreSQL, etc) and basic database design principles. 

• Cloud Computing Awareness: Advanced knowledge of AWS services (S3, RDS, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, Etc.), with a demonstrated ability to leverage cloud services for efficient application deployment. 

• Microservices: Mastery of best practices for microservice architectures, containerization, and experience with container management tools. 

• Methodologies and Practices: 

• Agile: Extensive experience with Agile methodologies, adaptable to changing project requirements, and a collaborative team player. Familiarity with a ticket management tool such as JIRA. 

• Source Control and Deployments: Mastery of Git source control, experience with automated build pipelines such as CircleCi or Jenkins, experience with rapid development sometimes deploying multiple times a week. 

• Testing and QA: Advanced understanding of unit testing, with an interest in learning and implementing automated testing practices. 

• Problem-Solving Skills: Analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot technical issues and propose creative solutions. 

• Communication and Collaboration: Highly effective communication skills, comfortable leading within a team, and driving development discussions.
