The person will work on a variety of projects in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment. The person will be responsible for software development activities of KPMG, India. Part of the development team, he/she will work on the full life cycle of the process, develop code and unit testing. He/she will work closely with Technical Architect, Business Analyst, user interaction designers, and other software engineers to develop new product offerings and improve existing ones. Additionally, the person will ensure that all development practices are in compliance with KPMG’s best practices policies and procedures. This role requires quick ramp up on new technologies whenever required.
Responsibilities
Role : Java Software Engineer
Location: Hyderabad
Experience: 15 to 20 years
- Lead the design and development of complex, distributed microservices-based systems using Java and Spring Boot.
- Architect and implement RESTful APIs that are scalable, secure, and high‑performing.
- Drive cloud‑native solution design and deployment on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and guidance to development teams.
- Review and optimize system architecture for performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders — Product, DevOps, QA, Architecture — to ensure alignment of technical solutions.
- Own end-to-end application lifecycle: design, development, deployment, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Establish engineering best practices, coding standards, and quality processes.
- Lead incident resolution, root cause analysis, and performance tuning for mission-critical systems.
- Contribute to CI/CD strategy and cloud automation initiatives.
- 15–20 years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
- Deep hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and Microservices architecture.
- Proven experience building, deploying, and scaling RESTful APIs.
- Strong command over GCP services such as Cloud Run, Kubernetes (GKE), Pub/Sub, Cloud SQL, IAM, and Cloud Storage.
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud-native patterns, and system design.
- Experience in performance engineering, caching strategies, and resilience frameworks.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
