Role Summary/Purpose

The Software Engineer will be responsible for developing technology solutions in the Wabtec Remote Monitoring and Diagnostics space. As part of this role the Software Engineer would be working closely with the Functional and Technical leads across various applications, COE and Infrastructure teams to deliver right business outcomes.

Job Description

As a developer at Wabtec you will work with a broad and holistic view. In addition to this, we believe you have:

Bachelor’s/master’s degree in computer science, Engineering or related fields

• Knowledge of integration and API technology as Apache Camel, SOA Architecture, Jboss Fuse, Enterprise integration patterns, Webservices and Message Queuing
• Internship or work experience as a software engineer
• Hands-on experience on Java 8/11 + Spring Boot
• Microservices, REST APIs + Oracle 19c development skills
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) as well as understand and translate business requirements
  
  
  

Desired skillset:

• AWS Cloud expertise (-eg- S3, NoSqlDB, EKS, ECS, API Gateway + Serverless technologies).
• Agile methods (Scrum, TDD, Kanban).
• DevOps and CI/CD environments including: Gitlab, Chef, Docker, Kubernetes.
  
  
  

Some of your daily work includes:

• Working with professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full software development life cycle
• Translate requirements into components and services that are highly scalable and available.
• Collaborate/closely with Tech Leads, product owner and other cross-functional teams, share best practice as well as discuss and motivate design solutions.
• Troubleshoot issues in application/platform with help monitoring tools and support teams.
  
  
  

Qualifications

2 to 5 years’ experience and a Bachelor's and/or Master's Degree in Engineering or circuit branches (Computer Science, Information Science, Electronics & Communications)

• Experience from working agile is very beneficial
• Straightforward and open minded

• Good to have experiences of working with offshore teams
