Software Test Engineer

Job Title: Software Test Engineer ( On-Site )
As a Software Test Engineer, you will be responsible for validating software functionality in a fast-paced Agile environment by performing exploratory, functional, and regression testing. This role ensures continuous feedback to developers and product owners through quick, iterative testing during sprint development.
You will be collaborating closely with cross-functional Agile teams including developers, business analysts, and UI/UX designers. You will be responsible for supporting early bug detection and prevention by actively participating in requirement grooming and sprint planning.

Responsibilities:

• Agile Collaboration:
  • Participate in all Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, grooming, reviews, and retrospectives).
  • Collaborate with product owners and developers to clarify user stories and acceptance criteria.
• Test Planning:
  • Create test scenarios and cases for user stories during backlog grooming or sprint planning.
  • Identify and document test coverage and edge cases upfront for each sprint.
• Manual Testing:
  • Execute manual tests during the sprint cycle, providing early and continuous feedback.
  • Perform functional, regression, integration, exploratory, UI, and cross-browser testing as needed.
  • Conduct smoke and sanity checks after deployment.
• Defect Management:
  • Raise well-documented bugs with clear reproduction steps and visual evidence.
  • Validate bug fixes.
  • Prioritize and re-test issues based on sprint timelines.
• Test Automation:
• Define requirements for automation tests.
• Collaborate with automation testers to identify regression candidates for automation.

Education, Experience , Knowledge and Skills Requirements :

• Education and Experience :

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
• 2–5 years of experience in manual testing in Agile environment.
• Knowledge and skills required :

• Solid understanding of Agile QA processes, SDLC, STLC, and defect lifecycle.
• Proficiency with test management and defect tracking tools like Azure DevOps, JIRA, or similar.
• Good to Have: Basic experience with Selenium WebDriver using C#, Familiarity with Git, version control, and CI/CD pipelines (Azure Pipelines preferred), Knowledge of API testing tools like Postman and Basic SQL knowledge for data validation and backend testing.
