Software Test Engineer

Overview

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Software Test Engineer to join our QA team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in both manual and automation testing with the ability to design, develop, and execute comprehensive test strategies. You will work closely with developers, business analysts, and product managers to ensure the quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, execute, and maintain detailed and structured test plans, test cases, and test scripts (manual and automated).
• Design and implement automation frameworks from scratch or enhance existing frameworks.
• Perform functional, regression, integration, system, and performance testing.
• Ensure all software releases meet quality standards and user expectations.
• Log defects clearly and track them through resolution using defect tracking tools (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Collaborate with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and provide testing insights.
• Contribute to continuous testing, CI/CD practices, and participate in Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives).
• Mentor junior QA team members as needed.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5–10 years of experience in software testing, with strong exposure to both manual and automation testing.
• Proficient in one or more automation tools (e.g., Selenium WebDriver, TestNG, JUnit, Cypress, Playwright).
• Strong programming/scripting knowledge in Java, Python, JavaScript, or similar.
• Experience with API testing tools like Postman, REST Assured, SoapUI.
• Solid understanding of SDLC, STLC, Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git), CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner) is a plus.
• Knowledge of database concepts and SQL queries.
• Experience with mobile testing tools (e.g., Appium) is an added advantage. • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) is a bonus.
