Job Summary

Standard Chartered Bank is seeking an Analyst in Data Analytics Team under the Sales Performance Management (SPM) function. This role focuses on analysing data to provide actionable client insights and improve sales efficiency. The qualified individual will assist in the execution of analytics strategy and help drive innovation in the role. This role's objective is to enhance teams' sales data analytics capability, innovate and optimise the use of data including the development of effective continuous monitoring strategies, dashboards, and reports for both TB FI & Corporate sales team.

Key Responsibilities

This individual will be responsible for the following:

  • Drive innovation, identify risks and gain data insights across the bank's Sales Performance Management areas (FI Sales + Corp Sales) using Data Analytics methodologies.
  • Contribute to the design, development, testing and documentation of analytical procedures (includes data source, data preparation, data transformation, modelling, automations, and data visualisation) to assist in MI reporting, Quality Assurance, and other areas of Data Analytics support.
  • Contribute to the design and implementation of effective continuous monitoring strategies.
  • Work closely with key stakeholders to understand data flow/data points, and research and develop understanding of the sales data and processes to advise on the design of data analytical solution.
  • Provide insight and guidance on the interpretation of reported exceptions/analytics outputs so that appropriate actions can be taken by sales team.
  • Embrace the agile philosophy, adhere to established best practices and continuously seek feedback for continuous improvement

Skills And Experience

Skills and Experience:

  • Data analysis techniques.
  • Technical skills and strong RDBMS, Programming fundamentals
  • Solid grasp of Tableau, strong visualization skill in Tableau and Power BI.
  • Dashboard Design using MicroStrategy preferred.
  • Expert in automation with prior experience in Python scripting preferred.
  • Analytical problem-solving skills
  • Change management and communications.
  • Sophisticated Stakeholder management.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a data analysis role preferably with sales analytics, revenue, a control function and/or previous experience in analysing business processes in a financial services environment with minimum 3+ years of experience in Tableau.
  • Previous experience in the financials analytics, data analysis, requirement gathering would be a significant advantage.
  • Working knowledge of data analysis software; good understanding of data systems and data query and coding language methods, such as SQL, Python and/or R
  • Experience with metrics and reporting, and tools such as Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBI or similar tools.
  • Good understanding of analytics and techniques, and proven ability to understand problem statements and identify opportunities for use of analytics.
  • Basic understanding of statistics - Correlation, Regression, and its application
  • Outstanding project management and analytical skills with an ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities with a track record in creative and successful problem-solving.
  • Highly entrepreneurial with a high level of energy, dedication, and an unrelenting drive to deliver value, with a track record in creative and successful problem-solving.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • Ability to participate within a multi-disciplinary team and be a strong team player.
  • A bachelor's degree in computer science, Management Information Systems or Business (e.g., Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, Management, Statistics) is preferred.
