We are currently seeking a SQL Database Engineer to join our team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (IN-UP), India (IN).

Preferred Experience

• Ideal candidate has been supporting traditional server based relational databases (SQL Server) for over 3+ years out of which last 1+ years in public cloud environments (Azure)
• Database administration experience in SQL Server 2012/2016/above versions
• Strong Installation, deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting experience in high-availability database environments (Always-On, Clustering, Mirroring, etc.).
• Experience performing SQL backups, restores and recovery models
• Able to provide 24*7 shift hours support at L1/L2 level
• Experience in updating KB articles, Problem Management articles, and SOPs/runbooks
• Passion for delivering timely and outstanding customer service
• Great written and oral communication skills with internal and external customers
• Strong ITIL foundation experience
• Ability to work independently, with little or no direct supervision.
• Share domain and technical expertise, providing technical mentorship and cross-training to other peers and team members.
• Work directly with end customer, business stakeholders as well as technical resources.
• Having good knowledge in performance tuning.

Basic Qualifications

• 3+ years of overall operational experience
• 1+ years of Azure/GCP experience as a cloud DBA (SQL)
• Assist in daily administration activities including setup, configuration and monitoring of databases to ensure backups, availability and performance are all maintained to the highest standards.
• Assist the support staff to troubleshoot SQL and any other database errors.
• Ensure all key databases have deep insight monitoring enabled to enable improved capabilities around fault detection
• Perform regular database maintenance when required and ensure databases are backed up according to agreed RTO / RPO information
• Maintenance work to be planned meticulously to minimise/eradicate self-inflicted P1 outages
• Backup and restores (Backups should be automated with RSV)

• Monitoring database costs regularly and identify strategies to minimize cost as part of internal FinOps practices
• Segregation of duties (User Management - designing User roles and responsibilities)
• Participating in DR (Disaster Recovery)/COB (Continuity of Business) plans as applicable
• Experience with SSIS, SSRS, T-SQL, SynapseDB
• Knowledge of Mysql will be a plus.
• Experience with python / powershell scripting - preferred
• Secondary skill in Oracle/MySQL/PostgreSQL - preferred
• Good understanding of PAAS and RDS databases

Preferred Certifications

Azure fundamentals certification (AZ-900) - REQUIRED

Azure Database Certification (DP-300) - preferred

AWS Certified Database Specialty - preferred

MCTS, MCITP certifications a plus

B.Tech/BE/MCA in Information Technology degree or equivalent experience
