Sr. AI Platform Data Engineer, Amazon Autos

Overview

We seek an AI Platform Builder who works at the intersection of data engineering and data science. You will build platforms, develop Agentic Artificial Intelligence (AI) solutions, and create scientific solutions that drive marketplace innovation.

You will design and implement platform features, curated datasets that power self-service analytics and intelligent automation. Your work will include:

• Using AI agents to write and optimize code
• Building AI-powered platforms that serve ML models

Key job responsibilities

Platform Development & AI Integration

• Build and maintain efficient, scalable data pipelines and curated datasets optimized for AI/ML consumption
• Implement systems for automated data classification to transform business problems into analytical solutions
• Develop AI-native self-service data platforms using an AI-first methodology
• Create AI-powered platforms with natural language interfaces for data access
  
  

Stakeholder Engagement & Delivery

• Serve as a technical partner to business stakeholders, data science teams, and cross-functional partners
• Deliver well-modeled, discoverable data optimized for specific use cases
• Design and build curated datasets using AI code generation and Agentic AI tools
• Communicate insights and recommendations to product, business, and technology partners
  
  

Technical Leadership

• Architect and scale services based on program vision
• Recommend optimal strategies for quantifiable business impact
• Break down complex challenges into manageable projects
• Make pragmatic decisions to reduce risk
• Lead AI-augmented workshops for stakeholders
  
  

Day-to-Day Activities

• Design and build curated datasets using AI code generation tools
• Build and maintain data pipelines using Amazon Web Services (AWS) and internal Amazon tools

Amazon Autos transforms automotive shopping experiences. You will build a data platform for Reporting & Analytics, working with product managers, designers, and engineers to create automotive shopping experiences that delight customers.

This role is part of the Amazon Autos Reporting & Analytics tech team. Our vision is to create automotive discovery and shopping experiences on Amazon that provide customers with greater convenience and selection.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of data engineering experience
• Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
• Experience with SQL
• Experience in at least one modern scripting or programming language, such as Python, Java, Scala, or NodeJS
• Experience mentoring team members on best practices
• 4+ years of data engineering experience
  
  

• Experience with big data technologies such as: Hadoop, Hive, Spark, EMR
• Experience operating large data warehouses
