Job purpose
We are looking for a Senior Broadcast and IT Engineer. The role works as part of a shift-working team providing operational support, incident management and stakeholder communication for the systems used to produce, publish and serve content on TV, Digital and Audio Platform

- Design and implement Baseband signal workflows to support broadcast infrastructure.
- Provide technical support for Gallery, Server Rooms, Audio/Video Studios, Editing Bays, Field Teams, and Newsroom operations.
- Demonstrate advanced engineering expertise in both indoor and outdoor broadcast environments.
- Execute system updates and configuration changes; initiate response to service disruptions and implement proactive measures to avoid recurrence.
- Ensure accurate incident logging, including technical responses and remedial actions.
- Develop and implement contingency workflows for planned maintenance and unexpected events.
- Facilitate effective incident and information handover during shift transitions.
- Possess in-depth knowledge of Broadcast Automation systems.
- Stay informed of operational updates and align team actions with industry best practices.
- Create and maintain technical documentation and AutoCAD-based schematics.
- Prioritize tasks based on service impact and perform under high-pressure scenarios.
- Apply strong analytical and problem-solving skills in real-time broadcast situations.
- Communicate complex technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Foster collaborative communication with internal teams and cross-functional departments.
Knowledge, Skills, Training, and Experience
- Proven expertise in configuring ROSS Ultrix video routers and Ross Glues and Open Gear infrastructure, fully integrated with broadcast automation systems.
- Strong working knowledge of Blackmagic Design (BMD) Live Production Switchers and associated automation protocols.
- Advanced knowledge of configuring and operating vMix software, including automation integration.
- Skilled in configuring, managing, and troubleshooting Analog and digital audio consoles, including Calrec Brio and DHD systems.
- In-depth understanding of MADI and Dante audio transport technologies for high-channel-count setups.
- Capable of managing and troubleshooting studio cameras, robotic heads, and lighting consoles for live and recorded production environments.
- Experienced in setting up and operating outdoor multi-camera live productions, ensuring redundancy and quality across OB workflows.
- Proficient in deploying and maintaining RTS talkback systems across complex studio environments.
- Hands-on experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of broadcast kits, including field kits and rack systems.
- Demonstrates adaptability and effectiveness in fast-paced, evolving production environments.
- Solid understanding of network connectivity, IP configuration, and basic infrastructure troubleshooting.
- Experienced with LiveU servers, bonded network solutions, and TVU streaming platforms for live field contributions.
- Knowledge of broadcast IT workflows, including play out, ingest servers, and IP-based networking.
- Familiarity with River Silica IPTV monitoring platforms for stream-level QoS.
- Working understanding of MITEL VoIP telephony solutions (considered a value-add).
- Working knowledge of DMX-controlled studio lighting systems and lighting desk protocols.
