Overview
Job Details:
Collects and defines Business Requirements and Functional/Non-Functional Specifications, enabling ACI
to deliver competitive payment solutions. Uses a variety of standard and advanced techniques in the
elicitation, analysis, documentation, and management of requirements. Inventory requirements in the central
repository, using key attributes to allow for prioritization and grouping. Expands knowledge of the
payments industry, product offerings, and applied technology. Ensures quality and timeliness of
requirements processes to stay at least one release ahead of the development lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
- Uses a set of tasks and techniques to work as a liaison among and elicit the needs of
Stakeholders are to define and validate solutions that meet business needs, goals, or objectives.
- Builds and manages relationships with stakeholders based on an understanding of their influence
and needs.
- Analyzes and synthesizes information elicited from stakeholders, defines and manages the plan
to deliver requirements, documents, and manages requirements throughout the project life cycle.
- Provides input on features/functions to Product Management in developing the product roadmap.
- Provides input to the Product Marketing Manager on case studies and customer reference
implementations.
- Continuously develops domain knowledge, depth, and breadth, in the payments industry, ACI
products, customer base, and applied technology. Perform other duties as assigned.
- Obtains information from stakeholders
- Uses tools (paper-based and automated) for gathering inputs.
- Uses Voice-of-Customer (VoC) techniques to uncover latent customer needs
- Meets with Product Managers, Application Development representatives, customers, and industry
experts to discover product specifications
- Reviews product documentation, industry or regulatory specifications, and requirements database
to discover product specifications
- Conducts elicitation sessions
- Conducts field research with clients and targeted users to gather data to determine user stories
and functional/non-functional specifications
- Uses targeted and routine approaches for gathering input to user stories and functional/non-functional specifications
- Gathers business requirements from customer-specific engagements
- Validates requirements with stakeholders
- Prioritizes requirements
- Organizes and synthesizes information
- Uses various analysis and modeling techniques
- Ensures requirements meet market and business needs
- Prepares requirements documentation
- Presents requirements in an understandable format
- Obtains needed approvals
- Plans business analysis approach based on project complexity, risks, assumptions,
dependencies
- Defines the plan to deliver requirements, including elicitation, analysis, and management
- Builds and manages relationships with stakeholders based on an understanding of their influence
and needs a Strategy and Product
- Acts as a subject matter expert (SME) of the majority of functionality in one solution, and in
Components of a second solution
- Broad knowledge of the technology used in ACI and competitive solutions, as well as technology
trends in general. Leverages this knowledge in determining the priority of addressing technology
requirements/ upgrades within the solutions.
- Provides input/help to conference/customer presentations.
- Understand and adhere to all corporate policies to include but not limited to the ACI Code of
Business Conduct and Ethics.
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Technical experience in a business analyst or documentation role.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience required for the job:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Business Administration, master’s degree preferred.
or comparable work experience.
- 4+ years in an industry-related role such as technical support, product management or product
development with exposure to marketing, or comparable work experience.
- Significant experience in all aspects of business analysis.
- Very broad knowledge of the payments industry, customer base, and applied technology.
- Experience in the application of payment solutions in at least one vertical market within the
payments industry.
- Ability to transform knowledge into requirements that provide a competitive advantage.
- Knowledge and understanding of products, competitive offerings, and market drivers.
- Experience working on projects of a high degree of complexity that span more than one
geography.
- Experience working with stakeholders of equivalent level internally and externally to agree
functional and non-functional requirements.
- Technical experience that enables understanding and the ability to explain the advantages and
disadvantages of the technology used by ACI. Knowledge and skill sets required to act as the Subject
Matter Expert in components of an ACI solution.
- Can articulate market segment statistics for which ACI solutions are aimed, including size, market
share, trends, and competitors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Excellent negotiation and collaboration skills.Creation of quality, easy-to-understand papers and presentations.
- Works independently, using own judgment to complete tasks and helps others.
- Experience developing and presenting customer and conference presentations.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience needed for the job:
- Professional Business Analyst association membership preferred.
- Background in fintech, banking, or payments
