Job Overview:

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Data Engineer with a strong background in backend development and data engineering. The ideal candidate should have at least 6 years of hands-on experience in designing and implementing data-centric solutions, particularly in cloud-native environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines and architectures.
• Design and implement data workflows and orchestration solutions.
• Build and optimize data warehouses to support business intelligence and analytics needs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Ensure code quality and performance through testing, documentation, and code reviews.
• Monitor and maintain data applications using observability tools and best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• 6+ years in software development and data structures/algorithms with a backend/data engineering focus.
• 5+ years hands-on experience with Python, JVM-based languages, and Shell scripting.
• 3+ years experience building cloud-native data-intensive applications, primarily on AWS (GCP experience is a plus).
• Strong expertise in Data Warehouse design and development; experience with Databricks and dbt is mandatory.
• Proficient in Apache Airflow for workflow orchestration.
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Hands-on experience developing and maintaining Apache Spark applications.
• Deep understanding of file formats such as Parquet, Delta Lake, and other open table formats.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
• Experience using observability and monitoring tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, or Grafana.
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines with tools like GitHub Actions, ArgoCD, or Jenkins.
• Familiarity with unit testing and test automation frameworks.
• Ability to write clean, maintainable code and create clear, concise technical documentation.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with non-technical stakeholders.
• A proactive, service-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering business value.
