Overview
JDOverview We are seeking a Senior Data Engineer specialized in Operations & Maintenance (O&M) to ensure the stability of critical on-premise legacy systems while they are being migrated. This role acts as the bridge between the legacy environment and the new cloud team.
The ideal candidate maintains composure under pressure, handling critical incidents for high-visibility revenue systems without panic. This role requires patience to work with outdated technologies and fragmented documentation, as well as clear communication skills to articulate the root cause of legacy failures to the migration team to prevent the replication of bugs in the new system.

Required Qualifications
Legacy Databases: Expertise in Oracle (Maintenance/DBA skills) and MySQL (On-prem).
Legacy ETL: Proficiency with Oozie, Pig, Hive, and Java-based ETL frameworks.
Operations: Experience with Linux/Unix Shell Scripting, Log Analysis (Splunk/ELK), and Incident Management tools (Jira/ServiceNow).

Scope And Solution Expectations
Incident Management: Respond to and resolve production incidents and service interruptions for existing on-premise data systems.
System Stability: Monitor system health, performance, and stability; perform regular checks and maintenance.
Legacy Code Support: Maintain and update existing legacy application codebases and stored procedures during the transition period.
SME Support: Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the legacy codebase to support the migration team's "As-Is" analysis.
