Overview
Job Summary: We are seeking a highly analytical and experienced Data Modeler and Analyst to play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and maintaining our enterprise data models and providing insightful data analysis. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring our data architecture is robust, scalable, and accurately reflects our organizational data requirements. This role requires a strong understanding of data modeling principles, excellent SQL skills, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for various stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Modeling:
- Design, develop, and maintain conceptual, logical, and physical data models for various data initiatives (e.g., data warehouses, data marts, operational data stores, transactional systems).
- Work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts, and technical teams to gather and understand data requirements, translating them into accurate and efficient data models.
- Implement best practices for data modeling, including normalization, denormalization, dimensional modeling (star schema, snowflake schema), and data vault methodologies.
- Create and maintain data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and data lineage documentation.
- Ensure data model integrity, consistency, and compliance with data governance standards.
- Perform data profiling and data quality assessments to understand source system data and identify modeling opportunities and challenges.
- Data Analysis:
- Perform in-depth data analysis to identify trends, patterns, anomalies, and insights that can drive business decisions.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from various relational and non-relational databases.
- Develop and present clear, concise, and compelling reports, dashboards, and visualizations to communicate findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Collaborate with business units to define KPIs, metrics, and reporting requirements.
- Support ad-hoc data analysis requests and provide data-driven recommendations.
- Collaboration & Communication:
- Act as a liaison between business users and technical development teams (ETL developers, BI developers, DBAs).
- Participate in data governance initiatives, ensuring data quality, security, and privacy.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of data architecture and data management practices.
- Mentor junior data professionals and share knowledge within the team.
