About the Team/Position Summary:
Looking for a Senior SQA Engineer-I to join our PFS Fabric Manager team. The ideal candidate will bring deep experience in manual testing, Python-based QA frameworks, and networking protocols and topologies. He/She will play a key role in ensuring the quality, scalability, and robustness of our packet broker and intelligent switching platform.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the QA effort across overall functionality of the Packet Broker Network Management platform.
- Design and test High Availability platform and packet broker switch management layers.
- Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts using Python.
- Drive overall guidance, test planning, execution, regression testing, and defect tracking.
- Develop reusable testing for UI, API, and related system-level testing.
- Validate NetConf, packet broker switch workflows, SNMP, NetFlow, Syslog, and other network telemetry integrations.
- Simulate real-world network environments using virtual and physical lab setups.
- Collaborate closely with developers, product managers, and customer support.
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.
- Mentor junior QA engineers and help improve overall test maturity.
Basic Qualifications/Skills:
- 6+ years of experience in software QA, with at least 2 years in a senior role.
- Strong proficiency in Python for scripting and automation.
- Familiarity with packet broker, concepts of port density, throughput, filtering capabilities
- Hands-on experience testing network management systems, network analyzers, or SDN solutions.
- Excellent understanding of L2/L3 protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, SNMP, BGP, OSPF, VLAN, QoS).
- Experience with REST APIs, Linux environments, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with network simulators/emulators (e.g., GNS3, Cisco VIRL, iPerf).
- Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with tools like Pytest, Robot Framework, Wireshark, Postman, and Jenkins.
Preferred Qualifications/Skills:
- Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Computer Science, ECE, or related fields.
- Exposure to virtualization/cloud technologies (VMware, KVM, AWS, etc.)
- Knowledge of performance testing or security testing for network products.
- Experience with packet broker platforms like Gigamon, Cisco, N2 series.
