Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Senior SQL Developer with over 4 years of experience in database design, development, and support. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise working with MS SQL Server 2008 and above, capable of managing large-scale databases and optimizing database performance in production and development environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain relational databases ensuring data integrity through normalization, denormalization, and referential integrity using Primary Keys, Foreign Keys, and Triggers.
• Write and optimize complex Transact-SQL (T-SQL) queries, stored procedures, functions, views, and triggers.
• Implement business logic and workflows using advanced database objects and indexing strategies.
• Develop, deploy, and maintain SSIS packages for ETL processes, data transformation, and migration workloads.
• Perform query tuning, index tuning, and overall database performance optimization using DMVs, execution plans, and best practices.
• Utilize SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS), SSIS, and SSRS for database development, reporting, and integration tasks.
• Manage data migration and transformation using Bulk Copy Program (BCP), Data Transformation Services (DTS), and conversion from legacy systems.
• Work closely with .NET developers, providing guidance on SQL query best practices and troubleshooting.
• Handle large-scale user databases, applying partitioning and other techniques for scalability and performance.
• Create and maintain technical documentation and assist in presentations and knowledge sharing within the team.
  
  

Skills

• 4+ years of experience with MS SQL Server 2008 and above.
• Strong knowledge of database design principles including normalization, denormalization, and referential integrity.
• Expertise in T-SQL (DDL, DML, DCL), transaction isolation levels, and advanced query writing including window functions.
• Experience with XML data types and indexing strategies.
• Hands-on experience designing and deploying SSIS packages and working with SSRS.
• Proven skills in query tuning, index tuning, and database performance optimization.
• Familiarity with ETL processes and data migration tools like BCP and DTS.
• Experience managing large databases and applying horizontal partitioning.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and guide junior developers.
