Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Atlassian Engineer / Jira Developer to manage, customize, and optimize our Atlassian tools, primarily Jira and Confluence. We are looking for candidate with deep expertise in Jira administration, workflow automation, scripting, and integrations, helping teams maximize efficiency and streamline project management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement automation using ScriptRunner, Jira REST API, Groovy, Python and Java.
- Develop and maintain Jira add-ons and integrations with third-party tools like Jenkins, ServiceNow, Salesforce etc.
- Manage Jira configurations, including user permissions, security schemes and custom fields.
- Design, develop, and customize Jira workflows, issue types, screens, and fields to meet business needs.
- Optimize Jira and Confluence performance, troubleshoot issues, and provide technical support.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide technical solutions for Agile teams.
- Ensure compliance with best practices and governance policies for Atlassian tools.
- Provide training and documentation for Jira users.
Must have skills:
- 7+ years of experience in Jira Administration and Development.
- Strong programming skills in Groovy, Java and Python.
- Expertise in REST API, Webhooks, and automation scripts.
- Hands on experience with third party add-ons like Tempo, Xray and Scriptrunner.
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible) for Jira/Confluence deployments.
- Experience with managing enterprise-level instances on AWS Datacenter.
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and ITSM frameworks.
Additional skills that would add value:
- Knowledge of SQL for querying Jira databases
- Experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, Bitbucket, Bamboo) and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with Atlassian cloud.
- Experience in migrating Jira/Confluence from Datacenter to cloud.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certification in any programming language.
- Training or certification in AWS.
- Any Atlassian certification such as Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator.
- Any Agile certification such as SaFe or CSM.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
