Sr. System Administrator

Overview

Experience:

• Two to Three years system administration experience required.

Job Purpose

• The Sr. System Administrator is responsible for administration, maintenance and performance monitoring System infrastructure.
• The role holder will have an excellent knowledge of various systems / modules or products with several years experience within an IT infrastructure team.
• The role holder will have excellent leadership and communication skills together to manage vendors and provide the appropriate solutions best suited for our infrastructure.
• The role holder will have to make sure that we are compliant to all the Software licenses and upgrades periodically.
• The ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders from all areas of the business and IT.
• The role holder should have the ability to manage AWS and Azure cloud hosting and dedicated and share hosting accounts.

Experience

• We are looking for a candidate who has the hunger to learn new technology, Problem solving capacity and has a track record of being successful in this field.
• Experience in Managing Microsoft Windows servers with Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, File server, Print Server and Group Policies.
• Experience in Managing Virtualized Environment using hyper-V, VMWare
• Configuration and troubleshooting of various operating systems on Windows & Linux platforms.
• Manage Windows Server Backup procedures and configuration
• Windows Patch Management
• Monitoring and troubleshooting issues related to Server, Desktop, Backup & Antivirus.
• Monitoring and Managing Backups issues of servers and individual projects.
• Resolving/Escalating event error related issues as assigned by the Onsite engineers.

Operations and Support

• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups.
• Perform regular security monitoring to identify any possible intrusions.
• Managing AV/ Hardware Vendor and getting necessary quotes for the necessary interventions.
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
• Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary.
• Create, change, and delete user accounts per request.
• Provide Tier III/other support per request from various constituencies. Investigate and troubleshoot issues.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies.

Maintenance:

• Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure / add new services as necessary.
• Upgrade and configure system software that supports GIS infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs.
• Maintain operational, configuration, or other procedures.
• Perform periodic performance reporting to support capacity planning.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
• Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment.

Knowledge/ Skills:

• Bachelor's degree, with a technical major, such as engineering or computer science.
• Systems Administration/System Engineer certification in Linux and Microsoft.

Communications/interpersonal Contacts:

• Interpret and/or discuss information with others, which involves terminology or concepts not familiar to many people; regularly provide advice and recommend actions involving rather complex issues. May resolve problems within established practices.
• Provides occasional guidance, some of which is technical.

Working Conditions/Physical effort:

• Travel is required as per the business needs.

Salary:

• CTC as per the industry standards.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹180,000.00 - ₹300,000.00 per year
