Overview
Our vision is to transform how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Micron Technology is a world leader in innovating memory and storage solutions that accelerate the transformation of information into intelligence, inspiring the world to learn, communicate and advance faster than ever.
Micron Technology is one of the world’s largest semiconductor companies. Our group helps create original internal test equipment to further Micron’s mission of transforming how the world uses information to enrich life for all.
Are you looking for an opportunity to work in a hands-on design engineering setting, writing and debugging software on physical hardware?
Our Equipment Software Design team is looking to hire a driven embedded software lead engineer who will develop embedded software running on bare metal to embedded Linux as well as higher level interface software. You will supervise and work with other software engineers and other engineering teams to create custom in-house semiconductor testers from the ground up.
You will collaborate extensively with the design team based in Boise, Idaho USA. The design team consists of other software and electrical engineers among other engineering teams. Together you will design, manufacture, and support custom semiconductor testers.
What You’ll Do:
- Design: Develop new and modify existing equipment in cross-discipline design teams (software, electrical, control, and mechanical engineers). Document for your designs.
- Code: Develop in C, C++, Bash, and Python on bare metal and under RHEL compatible Linux distros in containers.
- Manufacture: Work with New Product Introduction, Field Service and Operation teams in the manufacturing and support of equipment.
- Innovate: Our design team is challenged with projects to keep Micron competitive in the marketplace. Our designs are frequently providing solutions that no one else has addressed. We design what doesn’t exist yet.
- Support: work to improve existing designs, responding to manufacturing and production support.
- Hands-On Work: Daily opportunities to work hands-on with electronics, computers, in-house and third-party designed equipment in a lab environment.
- Supervise: Provide technical guidance, coach and manage performance of the local team.
Why Join Us?
- Impact: Our work directly impacts Micron’s ability to ship its products on time and on budget.
- Growth: There are exciting design opportunities on many projects working with senior and principal engineers.
- Innovation: Our design team is challenged with projects to keep Micron competitive in the marketplace. Our designs are frequently providing solutions that no one else has addressed. We design what doesn’t exist yet.
- Impact: We are continuously challenged to develop innovative production test solutions that are customized to Micron's needs. We must be more agile, robust, efficient, and capable than our competitors.
We have team members in Boise Idaho USA, Penang Malaysia, and Hyderabad India.
