We have a dedicated focus on the improvement of the skills of the team members and provide opportunities to use new technologies and work in different areas of our codebase.
We are looking for a staff-level full stack software engineer to join us and help build rich web experiences that delight our customers and empower our financial planning teams to do their best work. As a Senior member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for the design, development and observability of the team’s work. Our Staff Engineers wear a lot of hats - including hands-on coding, mentoring developers, influencing our product vision, and designing our system architecture. We have high standards for code quality, all forms of testing, and intelligent architecture.
Responsibilities:
- Providing technical leadership and hands-on development for our single page applications used by our clients and our financial planners in Typescript and React as well as our backend services in Java
- Designing and developing the infrastructure as code for lambda functions, their associated data stores and any required connected services using AWS CloudFormation
- Leading epics from idea to implementation including work estimation, collaboration with our product team, development, testing, code review and deployment
- Coaching and mentoring engineers on the squad through code reviews, pair programming, interactive design sessions and team retrospectives
- Interviewing and recruiting engineers to strengthen the team
Requirements:
- 7+ years software development experience including experience developing web applications using React, Angular or similar Javascript-based frameworks
- Experience developing APIs in Java, Javascript using node, or other similar technologies
- AWS cloud experience is highly preferable
- Experience working in an agile environment such as SCRUM or Kanban is a plus
- Familiarity in using AI-powered tools for software development, such as GitHub Copilot, for tasks including code review, writing unit tests, and code generation
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience
