Position Description: Stryker is looking for an experienced Software Engineer to join the Edge Clinical Workflow team. In this role, you will play an important role in supporting our Platform by working on a wide range of tools and technologies that are the foundational blocks of our product.
What you will do:
Responsibilities:
- Apply technical knowledge and problem-solving methodologies with a focus on improving the data and systems running at scale and ensure end to end monitoring of applications.
- Work on software upgrades to modernize infrastructure and eliminate technical debt.
- Troubleshoot customer issues by being a part of L3 production support rotation.
- Work on bug fixes, features and upgrades to assist application development team if needed.
- Improve observability and reliability of the Edge Clinical Workflow platform.
- Consider upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications
- Execute making significant decisions for a project consisting of multiple technologies and applications.
- Be a team player and assist other team members as required.
- Adds to team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect.
Capabilities and Skills:
- Hands on application development experience with Java or Kotlin.
- Strong knowledge of one or more infrastructure disciplines such as networking and telephony, observability, site reliability engineering, deployment and integration, scaling and resiliency.
- Ability to investigate and resolve customer issues by breaking down technical problems and barriers.
- Hands on experience with Terraform or other infrastructure as code technologies.
- Knowledge of Observability tools a plus (Datadog, Grafana, Dynatrace, Splunk, etc.).
- Experience working on support of products / interaction with internal and external customers.
- Knowledge of databases a strong plus (AWS Aurora preferred).
- Hands on experience with CI/CD pipelines.
- Hands on experience with GitHub and code reviews.
- Ability of multi-task and learn new tools and technologies as required.
- Strong communications skills, verbal, written, ability to drive meetings and knowledge sharing sessions to teams.
- Experience with multiple cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds.
- Strong self-starter with a drive to develop knowledge in additional domains, tools and technologies as needed.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodology and hands on experience with tools like Jira & Confluence.
Minimum and Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 4+ years of work experience in technology with hands-on development experience in Java or Kotlin.
- 2+ years of experience on a major public cloud platform (AWS preferred).
- Knowledge of Networking protocols (CUCM and/or certification like CCNP preferred.
