Staff Software Engineer, Front End, Core Data

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8 years of experience in software development.
• 5 years of experience testing, and launching software products.
• 3 years of experience with software design and architecture.
• Experience working in Front-End Development or working on Angular, HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
• Experience in Web Applications or UX Design.

The Data Developer Experience team, is responsible for developing solutions for the development and developer workflows of the Core data products. The team drives data centric development journeys through outcome based engagements and investments in scalable build blocks. The team works to address common productivity challenges across Core data products.

The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and maintain a unified front-end design system for Core Data applications, ensuring consistency and accessibility across products.
• Collaborate with UX designers to implement UI components, guidelines, and documentation.
• Ensure all UI components are designed and built with accessibility in mind.
• Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
• Lead a team of engineers responsible for developing and maintaining the design system, while mentoring and coaching engineers on the team, helping them grow and develop their skills.
