As a Staff Software Engineer, you act as a technical mentor and coach, providing guidance and support to the team while fostering a positive and productive work environment. You set project and squad goals, prioritize and complete initiatives, and deliver results in a product-led, empowered environment. You lead multiple collaborators with strong software development and engineering experience.
What you will deliver
- Design and build sophisticated software components, services, and solutions. Create and review design documents with engineering and architecture peers, incorporating feedback quickly.
- Own project delivery to production, ensuring high-quality code, comprehensive tests, and efficient deployment pipelines.
- Integrate software with distributed systems and shared APIs across BP. Collaborate with partner teams to enhance system reusability and resilience.
- Partner with product management, data science, and UX design teams. Collaborate to resolve issues and implement controls for compliance gaps.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to team development.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions to market; communicate status and changes.
- Implement controls and procedures to address compliance gaps; support audit teams in security, licensing, and regulatory audits.
- Maintain and enhance development frameworks; participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices.
What you will need to be successful (experience and qualifications)
Technical skills we need from you
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of experience developing full-stack applications across web and backend systems.
- Proficient in TypeScript, C#, and Python; must be comfortable working across platforms.
- Experience building and integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
- Skilled in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript frameworks with a focus on responsive design and accessibility.
- Strong grasp of cloud-native development (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and infrastructure automation.
- Proficient with relational and NoSQL databases, including query optimization and modeling.
- Strong systems design skills and ability to architect scalable, secure, and maintainable applications.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
