Staff Software Engineer

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will leverage your expertise in both traditional software engineering and Generative AI prompt engineering to deliver high-quality solutions. Your role will involve designing, developing, and maintaining software applications and frameworks, as well as creating and optimizing AI prompts to enhance our AI-driven solutions.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing Software: Design, code, test, and maintain high-quality applications.
  • Building Prompt Libraries: Create and optimize effective prompt chains for AI models.
  • Optimizing AI Prompts: Refine prompts to enhance AI model performance and accuracy.
  • Reviewing Code and Testing: Conduct code reviews and implement automated tests to ensure quality.
  • Solving Issues: Identify and fix software defects and performance problems.
  • Ensuring Ethical AI: Monitor AI outputs for biases and ethical concerns.
  • Collaborating: Work closely with architecture, QA, product management, and operations teams.
  • Mentoring and Code Review: Guide junior engineers and ensure best practices are followed.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will require:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math). A minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software engineering.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or Python, and familiarity with AI/ML frameworks.
  • Expertise in generative AI models and prompt engineering techniques.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Collaboration: Excellent communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Leadership: Experience in mentoring and guiding junior engineers.
  • Adaptability: Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies and tools.
  • Documentation: Strong skills in writing and maintaining technical documentation.
  • Ethical and Responsible AI: Understanding of ethical considerations in AI and experience in monitoring AI outputs for biases.
