Introduction
India Systems Development Lab (ISDL) is part of IBM Systems world-wide technology development lab. Established in 1996, the Lab is headquartered in India's Silicon Valley and startup hub - Bengaluru, with a strong presence in Pune and Hyderabad. Developers at ISDL deliver technology innovations across the entire Systems portfolio - z Systems, Power / OpenPOWER Systems and Storage. The team here works across the entire stack from processor design, firmware, operating system to software defined storage. The lab also focuses on innovations, thanks to the creative energies of the teams. The lab has contributed over 400+ patents in cutting edge technologies and inventions so far.
While computing veers towards cognitive, cloud, mobile, social, and security, the lab has significantly contributed to not just new products focused in these areas, but has also ushered in new development models such as Agile, Design Thinking and DevOps.
Your Role And Responsibilities
Manage and maintain version control of software release and repositories. Collaborate with developers, release leads, and project managers to determine the release engineering aspect of the software or application. Use various scripting and programming languages to build, package, deploy, debug and resolve compile and packaging issues, contributing to continuous delivery cycle.

Your Role And Responsibilities

Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Proven development and/or DevOps experience deploying and maintaining multi-tiered infrastructure and applications.
- Strong hands-on experience in Windows/Linux/Unix/AIX and Cloud native environment
- Hands-on experience in scripting and programming languages: Shell, Perl, Python, GoLang
- Exposure in designing and implementing collaborated solutions on Cloud and DevOps
- Strong experience in automating Continuous Integration, Continuous Delivery and Agile practices for a highly scalable system.
- Perform analysis of the current practices and design and implement best practices and emerging concepts in CI/CD landscape.
- Experience with Docker, Microservices and container deployment and service orchestration
- Yum Repos Installation
- InstallShield Application knowledge (windows)
- InstallAnywere Application knowledge (Unix/Linux/Windows)
- Native OS packaging knowledge (AIX, MAC, Linux, HP, Solaris)
- Experience with configuration management tools as Ansible/ Chef/Puppet - Preferred Ansible
- Experience with Infrastructure automation (Terraform, Cloud formation)
- Experience with monitoring and logging tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, and the ELK stack is essential.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- Extensive 5-10 years of experience in CI/CD, build, and installation for enterprise-level products.
- Virtualization and/or Cloud: AWS-Code Pipeline, Azure-DevOps-Services
- Must have excellent communication skills and technical writing skills (Communicate technical design through diagrams, documents, and presentations)
- Ability to work with a variety of cross-functional teams to develop automation with services and for required tools.
- Be an advocate for the DevOps mindset and culture, emphasizing collaboration, flexibility, cross-domain knowledge, and sharing. A self-driven individual who can understand requirements, develop solutions, and coach others as needed.
