Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME) – SAP MM Implementation

Role Overview:

The SME – SAP MM will be the functional expert responsible for managing the design, configuration, and implementation of SAP Materials Management module in alignment with business needs. The role involves collaborating with business stakeholders, project teams, and cross-functional SAP consultants to ensure smooth execution of procurement and inventory management processes during the SAP implementation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead requirement gathering workshops with Procurement, Stores, and Inventory stakeholders.

• Map business requirements into SAP MM processes and design appropriate solutions.

• Configure MM module covering Procurement, Purchasing, Inventory Management, Vendor Evaluation, Invoice Verification, and related processes.

• Define functional specifications for custom developments (RICEFW objects).

• Collaborate with FI/CO, SD, PP, and WM consultants to ensure smooth cross-module integration.

• Support data migration activities for materials, vendors, pricing conditions, and inventory.

• Prepare and execute test scripts for Unit Testing, Integration Testing, and UAT.

• Assist in cutover activities including material master uploads, open POs, and stock uploads.

• Provide training and knowledge transfer to business users and super users.

• Resolve issues and provide SME-level support during Go-Live and post-Go-Live stabilization.

• Ensure adherence to SAP best practices and organizational compliance standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent.

• Minimum 10 years of SAP MM experience with at least 2–3 full-cycle SAP implementation projects.

• Deep knowledge of MM processes: Procurement, Inventory Management, Release Strategies, Subcontracting, Consignment, Service Procurement, and Special Procurement Types.

• Hands-on experience in configuring Pricing Procedure, Automatic Account Determination, and Integration with FI/CO.

• Strong understanding of Master Data Management (Material Master, Vendor Master, Purchasing Info Records, Source Lists).

• Knowledge of cross-functional integration with FI/CO, SD, PP, and WM.

• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to translate business needs into SAP solutions.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Preferred Qualifications:
• SAP MM Certification.

• Experience in SAP S/4HANA MM (Procurement and Inventory Management).

• Exposure to SAP Fiori apps related to MM.

• Knowledge of Ariba / SRM integration will be an added advantage.
