Position- System Administrator
Experience -4 to 6
Loccation- Pune
Key Responsibilities:
Linux System Administration (L1 + L2 ):
- Perform Linux server installation, configuration, and maintenance (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu).
- User and group administration, permission settings, and SSH key management.
- Troubleshoot OS and hardware-related issues (file systems, boot issues, kernel panics).
- Analyze logs using journalctl, dmesg, and syslog for diagnostics.
- Monitor system performance and tune kernel parameters as required.
- Handle service configurations (NFS, Samba, DNS, NTP, Apache, etc.).
- Manage disk partitions, LVM, mount points, and system health checks.
- Write and use shell scripts for routine administrative tasks and automation.
- Apply patches, manage OS upgrades, and perform post-patch validations.
- Schedule and manage cron jobs for automated task execution.
- Manage and troubleshoot cron, startup services, and system daemons.
- Implement and maintain security hardening and compliance checks.
- Handle server reboots, change requests, and support DR/backup restoration.
Monitoring Support:
- Configure, maintain, and fine-tune monitoring tools like Zabbix, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Create dashboards for resource usage, disk I/O, memory, CPU, and application status.
- Configure alerting thresholds and integrations with incident management systems.
- Proactively resolve alerts, avoiding false positives and missed critical notifications.
Backup Operations:
- Administer backup jobs using tools like Veeam, NetBackup, or Commvault.
- Monitor daily backup success/failure reports and troubleshoot failed jobs.
- Validate backup integrity and perform restoration testing.
- Maintain documentation for backup schedules, policies, and restoration procedures.
Incident & Service Request Management:
- Respond to and resolve incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams for issue resolution and RCA documentation.
- Maintain and update ticket statuses using ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Linux OS (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu) system administration.
- Working knowledge of system performance tuning and kernel parameters.
- Experience with monitoring and visualization tools (Zabbix, Grafana, Prometheus).
- Hands-on with backup tools and troubleshooting failed jobs.
- Knowledge of shell scripting for automation tasks.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management procedures.
- Basic understanding of networking and firewall troubleshooting.
Nice to Have:
- Exposure to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Certifications like RHCSA, RHCE, CompTIA Linux+, or LPIC.
