What you will do

In this vital role you will be a part of Amgen’s Learning & Development Product Team, working closely with business collaborators, product owners, business analysts, developers, and testers to ensure performance, maintenance, and reliable operation of Learning & Development applications, servers and databases. This role involves managing application and database environments, ensuring data is stored and retrieved efficiently, and safeguarding sensitive information and ensuring uptime, performance, and security of IT infrastructure.
The role also demonstrates domain and business process expertise to drive ongoing improvements to meet Amgen’s regulatory and validation procedures. This enables the delivery team to estimate, plan, and commit to delivery with high confidence and identify test cases and scenarios to ensure the quality and performance of LMS systems.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, servers, databases and applications to ensure their reliability and performance. For 3rd party hosted applications, work with vendor support to ensure the same.
- Monitor integrations, system performance and uptime, addressing any issues that arise promptly to prevent service interruptions.
- Implement and maintain security measures to protect systems from unauthorized access, vulnerabilities, and other threats.
- Manage backup procedures and ensure data is securely backed up and recoverable in case of system failures.
- Provide advanced technical support to users and the product team, troubleshooting and resolving issues related to system access, performance, and software.
- Apply operating system updates, patches, and configuration changes as necessary or work with related vendors to ensure system releases are tested and working as expected.
- Maintain detailed documentation of system configurations, procedures, and change management.
- Work closely with network administrators, database administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure that systems are integrated and functioning optimally.
- Enforce and follow standard GxP Process (21 CFR Part 11) defined by the organization which ensures that product quality, data integrity and patient safety are managed.
- Support Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery CI/CD pipelines.

Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's / Master’s degree with 8- 13 years of experience in Computer Science, IT or related field.
Functional Skills:
Must-Have Skills:
- Strong knowledge of information systems and network technologies in the Human Resources – Learning & Development area.
- Good understanding of software development methodologies, such as SDLC, Agile, and/or Scrum, software quality management, and organizational change processes.
- Programming languages, including C#, Java Script, or VBA.
- Experience with CI/CD tools, including GitLab, DevOps.
Good-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with validated GxP systems per FDA 21 CFR Part 11, pharma or other regulated industry, and related tools such as ALM, Veeva Vault Controlled Documents.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Good understanding of cloud technologies such as AWS.
- Experience with scripting and test automation tools.
Professional Certifications:
- SAFe – DevOps Practitioner (preferred)
- SAFe for teams (preferred)
- ITIL (preferred)
- Microsoft Certified Developer (preferred)
Soft Skills:
- Excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively with global, virtual teams.
- High degree of initiative and self-motivation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities successfully.

Shift Information:
This position requires you to work a later shift and may be assigned a second or third shift schedule. Candidates must be willing and able to work during evening or night shifts, as required based on business requirements.
