Job Summary:
We are seeking a proactive and skilled System Administrator to join our IT Infrastructure team in Bengaluru. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the stability, security, and performance of our core Windows and VMware environments. The ideal candidate will have 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience and will be responsible for managing servers, supporting infrastructure projects, and implementing system standards. This position is perfect for an IT professional looking to build upon their existing foundation and grow their skills in a dynamic, enterprise-level environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain Windows Server operating systems (2012 R2 - 2022) and the underlying VMware ESXi infrastructure.
- Manage and support Active Directory, including user/group administration, and assist in the implementation of Group Policies (GPOs).
- Participate in infrastructure projects, including server builds, technology upgrades, and system migrations.
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems, and key processes.
- Deploy, manage, and troubleshoot virtual machines, templates, and clones within the vSphere environment.
- Utilize PowerShell scripting to automate routine administrative tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for escalated issues from the helpdesk and L1 engineers.
- Collaborate with the security team to manage and respond to alerts from tools like Tanium, CrowdStrike, or CyberArk.
- Contribute to the creation and maintenance of technical documentation for system configurations and procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 to 3 years of direct, hands-on experience as a System Administrator in a Windows and VMware environment.
- Strong experience with Windows Server operating systems and VMware vSphere/ESXi.
- Proficiency with PowerShell scripting for automation and system management.
- Solid understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and core networking concepts.
- Experience with Dell or Cisco server hardware is preferred.
- A collaborative mindset with strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and projects effectively.
- Knowledge of ServiceNow
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms like Microsoft Azure or AWS.
- Familiarity with configuration management tools like Ansible.
- Experience with iSCSI or Fibre Channel (FI) storage.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Server+, VCTA-DCV, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate).
