EY GDS – Data and Analytics (D&A) – Staff: Data Engineer (Snowflake)

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the design and implementation of Snowflake environments on major cloud platforms.
• Support data ingestion and transformation using Snowflake features such as:
• Virtual Warehouses for compute operations.
• Databases, Schemas, and Tables for structured data storage.
• Stages for data loading and unloading.
• Snowpipe for automated data ingestion.
• Develop and maintain basic ETL/ELT pipelines under guidance from senior engineers.
• Write and optimize SQL queries for data extraction and reporting.
• Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues and ensure data quality.
• Follow best practices for data security, governance, and compliance.
  
  

• Snowflake Fundamentals: Hands-on experience or strong understanding of Snowflake components (Virtual Warehouses, Snowpipe, Streams, Tasks).
• SQL Proficiency: Ability to write and optimize queries.
• Programming Basics: Familiarity with Python for data manipulation.
• Cloud Awareness: Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP services.
• ETL Tools: Basic knowledge of any ETL tool is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.
  
  

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Experience: 0–3 years in data engineering or related roles.
• Preferred Skills: Snowflake experience, Python, and SQL.
• Certifications: Snowflake or cloud certifications are a plus.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies is desirable.
