Position
- At least three years’ experience in a technical support position, preferably with a networking technology company.
- In depth knowledge and hands on experience with network monitoring and troubleshooting utilities.
- Experience reading and understanding packet captures using tools such as: Sniffer, Ethereal, Wireshark, Cascade Pilot, AppTransaction or similar.
- Thorough understanding of the TCP/IP stack.
- Expertise in network monitoring technologies (such as Netflow, SNMP, WMI, TAP/SPAN mirroring)
- Experience with general routing/switching, policy based routing, spanning-tree, VLANs and VLAN trunking.
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills.
- Hands-on experience with OPNET/Network Physics, Mazu or Riverbed products is preferred.
- Experience with UNIX/Linux/Microsoft operating systems.
- Familiarity with Python and Perl scripting
- Cisco CCNP or CCIE is highly favored.
- Prior or current security clearance a plus, but not required.
- At least five years’ experience in enterprise technical support role, preferably with a networking technology company
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent client handling skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to handle stress and work under pressure
- Fast self-learning and independent
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or equivalent
- Strong Windows OS's knowledge
- Strong knowledge on Dockers and Containers
- Strong Unix/Linux skills
- Good understanding Java technology
- Knowledge on AWS / Azure cloud platform is a plus.
- Good understanding on VMware Esx environment
- Basic knowledge on databases (PostgreSQL, Oracle, Vertica) is a plus
- Understanding of TCP stack is desired
- Basic knowledge of programming languages/scripting
- Previous 2 to 3 years tech support Experience needed
- Excellent communications skills, both oral and written and also troubleshooting skills is a plus
- Minimum of BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent field, MS degree desired
