Job Description:
We are looking for a skilled and proactive Technical Support Engineer with strong hands-on experience in Linux server administration and Asterisk-based systems. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and optimizing telephony infrastructure, ensuring smooth operation and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers (preferably CentOS/Ubuntu).
Setup and manage Asterisk PBX systems, including dial plans, SIP/IAX trunks, and extensions.
Monitor VoIP call quality and troubleshoot audio issues, call drops, or latency problems.
Manage GSM gateways, SIP accounts, and telephony hardware integration.
Work with tools like Vicidial, FreePBX, or similar open-source dialer platforms.
Ensure system security, backup, and disaster recovery procedures are in place.
Collaborate with the networking team for port forwarding, firewall, and NAT configuration.
Maintain system logs, analyze performance, and generate technical reports as required.
Support end-users and provide documentation for technical processes.
Required Skills:
Strong command over Linux (CLI-based administration).
Good understanding of Asterisk configuration files, modules, and troubleshooting.
Experience with VoIP protocols (SIP, RTP) and network debugging tools (Wireshark, tcpdump).
Knowledge of firewalls (iptables/ufw) and VPN setup is a plus.
Familiarity with shell scripting for automation tasks.
Ability to troubleshoot hardware and telephony device-level issues.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.
Certifications in Linux (RHCE, LFCS) or VoIP (Digium/Asterisk) will be an advantage.
Prior experience in a call center technology environment is a plus.
