Test Engineer

Overview

In this role, you will have the opportunity to :

• Be part of a cross-functional team working collaboratively within high-performing Agile teams.
• Develop and Maintain API's, also contribute in tackling Technical Debt / Platform Health activities.
• Develop test cases and execute testing for various projects, initiatives, and BAU tasks.
• Ensure that high quality and effective test planning and execution are conducted in accordance with BFSI standards.
• Contribute to the Automation testing framework of the unit.
• Collaborate with developers and other colleagues to improve the quality of our products throughout the whole feature delivery cycle.
• Identify testing bottlenecks and make improvements to accelerate delivery with high confidence.
• Conduct both manual and automated tests, analyse bugs found during tests and document test results for feature delivery.
• You will be passionate about driving change and improvements in Development, writing code, test automation and the continuous delivery spaces, improving software quality, delivering software faster and more reliably.
• Test Engineer with Banker Platforms Team, you will bring the following skills & experiences;
• Experience in designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining Java application phases, code, and software (Java 8+, Spring Boot)
• You will have experience working with Rest APIs, development and integration using REST/JSON, Kafka, message queues
• Proven experience designing, developing and maintaining test automation scripts and stubbing frameworks as a Test Engineer
• Proven experience with test automation tools/frameworks, (e.g. RestAssured, Concordion, Wiremock, Selenium/Webdriver etc.)
• Sound experience in documenting test cases and executing testing for various projects, initiatives and BAU tasks, ensuring that high quality and effective test planning and execution is conducted
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins)
• Technical knowledge and understanding of relational databases, web services, messaging and stubbing
• Experience with QA Review process using source control tools (e.g. GitHub, BitBucket, etc.)
• Good understanding and knowledge of microservices.
• Experience of developing and testing Microservices / APIs.
• Scrum/Agile experience preferred but not essential.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Self-managing and a self-starter.
• Comfortable in switching hats from Developer to Tester as required.
