Job Summary

The Test Lead is responsible for managing a team that handles both manual and automation testing , overseeing sprint activities, and ensuring that risks, dependencies, and challenges are identified and addressed ahead of time. The role involves ensuring accurate testing estimates, maintaining high-quality deliverables, and monitoring the team's progress while resolving conflicts and fostering collaboration. Reporting to the QA Practice Lead, the Test Lead supports the team to ensure smooth project delivery and continuously improves testing processes. Success in this role requires strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills, with a focus on achieving project goals, maintaining best practices, and ensuring client expectations are met within deadlines.

Roles And Responsibilities

• Team Leadership and Management : Lead and manage teams handling manual and automation testing. Mentor junior testers, conduct appraisals, and support training initiatives.
• Test Strategy and Planning : Define test strategies, provide accurate estima
• tions, and plan activities, resources, tools, and timelines across projects.
• Automation Awareness and Best Practices : Stay updated on industry automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, JUnit, Cucumber), and guide the team in aligning with automation goals and best practices.
• Sprint and Task Management : Manage sprint activities, assign and track tasks, identify risks early, resolve conflicts, and ensure timely delivery
• Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement : Drive quality across deliverables, review and improve testing processes, and ensure client expectations are met.
• Best Practices and Process Optimization : Ensure adherence to industry best practices, and continually improve testing processes and adopt new tools or methodologies.
• Compatibility and Security Testing : Oversee compatibility testing across devices/browsers, and ensure security testing is executed as per project needs.
• Client Communication and Reporting : Maintain regular communication with stakeholders and clients, providing status updates, test summaries, and risk assessments
• Collaboration with DevOps and Developers: Align with DevOps and developers to implement deployment strategies and optimize CI/CD processes for smooth integration and delivery.
• Release Process Management: Take ownership of the release and deployment process, ensuring testing readiness and coordination with the release cycle.
• CI/CD and Shift-Left Testing: Implement CI/CD pipelines and shift-left testing principles to catch defects early and streamline testing during development.
  
  
  

Professional And Technical Skills

• 5–8 years of experience, leading and managing multiple testing teams, executing verification, validation, and end-to-end testing activities across various projects.
• Strong Knowledge of Testing Tools for Test Management and Bug Tracking.
• Proficient in using Jira and Confluence for tracking, documentation, and collaboration, ensuring well-structured test artifacts. Additionally, experienced with test management tools like Zephyr, TestRail, Xray, TestLink, etc.
• Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and Scrum practices, ensuring testing aligns with the overall Agile processes and sprint goals.
• Experience in leading functional, automation, performance, load, web services, and security testing, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
• Experience in Test Metrics and Reporting ; Track and report on key testing metrics (e.g., test coverage, defect rates, test execution progress) to ensure transparency and data-driven decision-making.
• Experience in mentoring team members, recommend best practices, and foster growth through coaching, documentation, and learning programs.
• Excellent communication, planning and organizational and problem-solving skills
