Job Overview

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Test Engineer / ETL Tester with 3+ years of experience to join our team in Bangalore on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis.

You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and integrity of our data pipelines and databases.

This role requires expertise in database and ETL testing, strong Python and SQL skills, and familiarity with various data platforms and version control systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for DB related testing and ETL testing.
• Utilize strong Python programming skills to develop automated test scripts for data validation and pipeline testing.
• Apply strong SQL skills to query and validate data across various databases, including Redshift, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Postgres, and Snowflake.
• Work with ETL tools and libraries like Pandas and Great Expectations to ensure data quality and integrity throughout the data lifecycle.
• Analyze population data and demographics to understand data characteristics and inform testing strategies.
• Contribute to and manage test artifacts within version control systems like GitLab, and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate closely with data engineers, developers, and business analysts to understand data flows and requirements, ensuring thorough test coverage.
• Identify, document, and track data-related defects, performing root cause analysis to facilitate timely resolution.
• Operate with minimal supervision, demonstrating strong attention to detail, critical thinking skills, and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Actively contribute to team goals, motivate others, and share knowledge to enhance team capabilities.
  
  

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Test Engineer / ETL Tester.
• Expertise in DB related Testing and ETL Testing.
• Strong Python Programming Skills.
• Strong SQL skills and experience working with ETL tools/libraries like Pandas and Great Expectations.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and hands-on experience working with databases such as Redshift, Elasticsearch, OpenSearch, Postgres, and Snowflake.
• Good knowledge around analyzing population data and demographics.
• Strong knowledge in Version Control GitLab and pipeline integration.
• Strong attention to detail, ability to work under pressure, critical thinking skills, and ability to operate with minimal supervision.
