Trading Data Analyst Intern

About the Role

Quant Global is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated intern who is passionate about data analytics and financial markets. As a Trading Data Analyst Intern, you will support the trading and risk teams by working on real-time market data, P&L insights, portfolio sensitivity checks, and performance dashboards. This internship offers hands-on exposure to how data drives trading decisions and risk management in a fast-paced quantitative environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in extracting, cleaning, and preparing P&L data, latency reports, and data vendor metrics (Zerodha, Kite, etc.) for analysis.
2. Perform portfolio sensitivity checks, such as estimating the impact of a 1% rise/fall in overall positions.
3. Help develop, update, and maintain risk management and performance dashboards.
4. Support identification of latency issues or performance bottlenecks by analyzing incoming data.
5. Collaborate with trading and tech teams to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytical data.
6. Present key findings, summaries, and insights in a clear and structured format.

Required Skills & Qualifications

1. Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Finance, Data Analytics, Economics, or related field.
2. Basic knowledge of Power BI, R, and Excel/Google Sheets.
3. Understanding of P&L concepts, trading basics, and market fundamentals (equity, derivatives, portfolio).
4. Familiarity with data from trading APIs/vendors like Zerodha Kite, ICICI Breeze, etc. (basic level acceptable).
5. Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and communication skills.

Preferred Attributes

1. Curious, proactive, and eager to learn about data-driven trading.
2. Strong interest in financial markets and quantitative analysis.
3. Exposure to creating simple dashboards or visual reports is a plus.
