Trainee Test Engineer

About the job:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Work with the team on functional testing of web and mobile applications
2. Collaborate with product team and other QA engineers to develop effective strategies, test plans and use cases
3. Execute test cases and analyze results; evaluate product functionality according to specifications
4. Create logs to document testing phases and defects
5. Report defects to development teams
6. Assist in troubleshooting issues and documenting workflows and issue resolutions
7. Conduct post-release or post-implementation testing
8. Run and understand automated test scripts and contribute to automation efforts where required
9. Assist in automating functional test cases
10. Map business and technical requirements into test cases and/or test scripts
11. Cultivate and follow quality assurance best practices
12. Data analysis, data verification, and problem-solving abilities
13. Support reporting of team/project testing metrics

Other Requirements:

1. Proven experience of 6 months to 1 year of hands-on experience in functional testing

2. Strong knowledge of quality best practices and methodologies for software testing

3. Experience with automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress.io, Katalon Studio, etc. is a value added

4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment

5. Experience in QA methodology, familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a plus

6. Familiarity with defect tracking tools, workflows, test case management tools, agile tools, and project tools

7. Ability to document and troubleshoot errors

8. Working knowledge of test management software

9. Analytical mind and problem-solving aptitude, strong organizational skills

10. Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to multitask day-to-day activities

11. Exposure to banking, payments, or financial domain applications (UPI, cards, net banking, payment gateways, wallets) is preferred
