Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated UFT Automation Tester with 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience in automation testing using Micro Focus UFT (formerly HP UFT/QTP). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated test scripts, and will collaborate closely with functional testers, developers, and business analysts to ensure high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities: Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop automation test scripts using UFT/QTP for functional and regression testing.
- Work with test leads and stakeholders to understand test requirements and scope.
- Maintain, update, and enhance existing automation frameworks.
- Execute automated test scripts, analyze results, and report defects using tools like ALM / Quality Center / JIRA.
- Integrate UFT scripts with test management tools (e.g., ALM).
- Perform manual testing when necessary for cases not covered by automation.
- Participate in test planning, test case reviews, and defect triage meetings.
- Provide timely updates on test execution progress and automation status.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
Essential skills: Required Skills and Experience:
- 3 to 5 years of experience in automation testing using UFT/QTP.
- Strong VBScript skills to develop and debug UFT scripts.
- Hands-on experience with HP ALM / Micro Focus ALM, including test lab and defect management.
- Familiarity with test automation frameworks, object repositories, and data-driven testing.
- Experience in working on Agile or Waterfall projects.
- Good understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and test life cycle (STLC).
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
