Job Description:
Technical writing to create the following types of documentation for computer based systems, software, and hardware: requirements documentation, architecture/design documentation, technical documentation (code, algorithms, user and application interfaces, system/hardware configuration, etc.), end user manuals & help screens.
The work includes: determining an effective structure and layout for highly complex documentation; conducting research and liaising with technical staff to ensure accurate interpretation of complex technical data, drawings, and specifications; ensuring appropriate technical content and terminology review occurs and that provision is made for the incorporation of updates and revisions.
Skills & Abilities:
Demonstrate ability to deliver training using various methodologies including in-person workshops, synchronous and asynchronous online tools such as WVU’s learning management system, user documentation, guides and videos. Collect information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and job-specific functions and tasks when creating training materials. Collaborate with team members and other ITS units, including Communications, eCampus, TeamDynamix administrators and others to maintain the Training portfolio of course content. Ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy, currency and security of trainer’s notes, materials, lesson plans and supportive media.
