Overview
As a Voyage Data Analyst, you need to support the effective and efficient function of the Fleet Performance Centre and build up BSM’s capability to oversee vessel efficiency and performance by establishing and implementing operational standards. Support and guide where needed, in order to provide the best possible decision support for optimizing the operation of BSM managed vessels to achieve the desired operational excellence in accordance with relevant legislation, industry best practice, quality standards and BSM sustainability goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the data quality of vessel reported logs, ensure it within acceptable limits.
- Ensure the reporting is as per standards devised in software (PAL).
- Monitor the data validations and identify the cause of reporting issue.
- Support data submissions to verifier (DNV), ensure the data is acceptable for verifier.
- Proactively engage within FPC members, Fleet teams and Vessel crew for resolution.
- Act as representative of FPC, for all reporting issues, liaise with Vessel support team, Shore support team and Software Development team.
- Devise methods to improve data quality of reports.
- BSc/BS/BEng/BTech in Mechanical/Marine Engineering or similar
- Minimum 1–3 years’ experience in similar role
- Basic knowledge on Data transactions
- Data Analysis with commonly available tools. Data (Experience in data analysis with programming tool is an added advantage)
- Knowledge on technologies commonly used in Shipping sector
- General troubleshooting skills
- Project and time management as well as organizational skills
- Computer literacy
- Teamwork skills
- Communication skills
- Fluency in English
- Able to cooperate with colleagues in a multinational and interdisciplinary environment within a distributed organization
