This role will be a part of the Technology and Operations organization in the Business Solutions teams and will support the Agile Delivery team for Financial Applications. This role will report to the VP, Accounting/Sourcing/FP&A Engineering Manager
Role Summary/Purpose
We are seeking a seasoned and experienced Technical Lead specializing in Oracle ERP Cloud to lead our Data & Reporting needs for our financial applications analytics and reporting initiatives. As the Technical Lead for Data & Reporting, you will spearhead the design, development, and management of data architecture, reporting frameworks, and analytics processes for our Oracle ERP Cloud solution. You will work cross-functionally with finance, product, IT, and business intelligence teams to deliver timely, accurate, and insightful reports and dashboards that drive financial performance and strategic goals. You will collaborate closely with functional consultants, business stakeholders, and IT teams to ensure successful ERP deployments that meet business objectives and technical standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and maintenance of reporting solutions focused on financial applications (primarily Oracle ERP Cloud and related products), ensuring alignment with business needs and industry best practices.
- Oversee the design and implementation of data models, ETL pipelines, and integration processes for consolidating financial and operational data from multiple source systems.
- Manage the data quality assurance process, identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure high accuracy and reliability of reporting data.
- Collaborate with finance, product, and IT leadership to translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions using standard Oracle functionality.
- Define and enforce data governance standards, security protocols, and documentation policies to uphold data integrity and compliance.
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation in data architecture and reporting workflows to enable self-service analytics and real-time insights.
- Stay ahead of emerging trends and technologies in data engineering, business intelligence, and financial analytics, ensuring best practices are adopted.
- Lead root cause analysis for data/reporting issues and develop solutions that minimize business interruption and maximize availability.
- Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, Finance, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus with 10 years of progressive experience in data engineering, BI/reporting, or analytics roles, with at least 5 years in a leadership capacity or in lieu of a degree 12 years of progressive experience in data engineering, BI/reporting, or analytics roles
- Deep expertise in financial data systems and strong understanding of financial processes and metrics (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Assets).
- Advanced skills in SQL, database design, and performance optimization; proficiency in Python, R, or similar for data transformation preferred.
- Strong knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance standards relevant to financial data.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments.
- Certifications in data management, cloud platforms, or BI tools are a plus.
- Experience with financial planning and analysis (FP&A) systems and tools.
- Proven track record driving cross-functional collaboration in complex, fast-paced organizations.
- Strong strategic thinking paired with hands-on technical leadership.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion Data Intelligence &/or Oracle Analytics Cloud is a plus.
- Oracle certifications related to Oracle ERP are a plus.

This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility and Choice offered in Synchrony India and will require the incumbent to be available between 06:00 AM Eastern Time – 11:30 AM Eastern Time (timings are anchored to US Eastern hours and will adjust twice a year locally). This window is for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours will be flexible for the employee to choose. Exceptions may apply periodically due to business needs.
