Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Accountant (Senior Finance IT Consultant) to join our Financial Systems CBS & eSAP -Global CAT IT Team
Incumbent will be responsible for working on the SAP/ERP deployment projects in the Finance area. Candidate should have a deep functional understanding of SAP Finance module and accounting background. He is responsible to deliver the project and manage functional activities and Cutover role wherever is needed.
The preference for this role is to be based out of Whitefield, PSN Office-KA

This role is part of the Corporate Services in Caterpillar IT Division. This team is responsible for managing the ERP implementation projects in the finance area.
- Lead the Cutover activities and Month end closing activities during the implementation projects.
- Deep understanding of all financial systems
- Manage the finance cutover activities during ERP deployments.
- Have the ability to analyze, understand impact and have a broader perspective on specific technical and functional issues in the SAP Finance domain.
- Lead and/or direct teams within or outside of discipline addressing complex problems.
- Deep understanding of system integration with ERP systems
- Participate in problem resolution process involving customer and information services interaction.
- Provide ongoing support to promptly address business critical incidents and manage ServiceNow tickets for support of these systems.
- Coordinate, participate and occasionally lead small cross-functional teams, with participation from finance (EFSS & Site accountants) and non-finance professionals to ensure customer needs are being met with the systems
- Have a comprehensive understanding of Caterpillar’s business and accounting practices, systems and procedures, specifically capital assets.
- Apply accounting knowledge and provide guidance on accounting issues
- Support deployments and manage the upgrade projects.
- Accounting Degree or equivalent or 4-year non-accounting degree with a minimum of 8 years working experience on Finance (accounting process) in SAP.
- Overall 10+ years of Experience of Accounting & SAP financial systems / support experience.
- Proven record of strong initiative, leadership, accountability, and effective communication skills
- The position requires the candidate to work a 5-a day -week schedule in the office.
- Strong Finance Background, GL processes, Finance systems, Strong experience in Month end closing activities
- Any Certificates in Finance is a Plus
