Overview
As an AI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and implementing modern AI solutions that leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and generative techniques to deliver advanced agentic solutions.
This role requires deep technical expertise and creativity to build secure, enterprise-ready AI systems. You will work with LLM providers such as Amazon Bedrock, Azure AI Studio, and other platforms to develop advanced generative AI applications. Additionally, you will integrate semantic search using vector databases and implement Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures to deliver intelligent, context-aware experiences.
Responsibilities:
AI Solution Development
- Design, develop, and implement AI solutions leveraging unimodal and multimodal LLMs and agentic systems to improve benefits enrolment, decision support, and HR automation.
- Develop and integrate agentic systems using frameworks like LangChain, and LangGraph for autonomous decision-making and workflow automation in benefits administration.
- Enhance bswift’s product ecosystem by incorporating emerging AI technologies to improve functionality and user experience for admin and end users.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies into existing bswift platforms to maintain industry leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Serve as the technical liaison between AI engineering teams and product teams to align AI capabilities with benefits technology goals.
- Facilitate communication across engineering, product, and compliance teams to ensure seamless integration of AI features.
Infrastructure and Optimization
- Optimize cloud-based AI infrastructure for scalability, performance, and reliability within bswift’s secure environment.
- Implement best practices for efficient AI system deployment and maintenance, including agentic workflows for HR processes.
Performance and Quality Assurance
- Establish rigorous testing and validation protocols for AI models to ensure accuracy in benefits recommendations and compliance checks.
- Drive continuous improvement in AI model efficiency and robustness for HR and benefits use cases.
Monitoring and Observability
- Implement monitoring solutions for AI systems using different tools to ensure operational health and performance.
- Analyse observability data to identify and resolve issues in AI model behaviour and agentic system performance.
- Develop proactive monitoring strategies to detect anomalies and ensure reliability of AI deployments.
Compliance and Ethical AI
- Ensure AI solutions adhere to healthcare and benefits regulatory standards (HIPAA, ACA, ERISA) and data privacy requirements (GDPR).
- Develop and enforce ethical AI guidelines to mitigate biases in benefits recommendations.
- Uphold high standards for secure handling of sensitive information, including PI and PHI, per federal, state, and local regulations.
Knowledge, Education, and Experience
- Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
- 2–3 years of experience working on ML/AI-driven products or systems. - Proven hands-on experience building and deploying applications with LLMs (GPT, Claude, Mistral, etc.).
- Experience in designing scalable, production-ready backend systems. Exposure to frameworks like LangChain.
- Familiarity with vector databases, embeddings, RAG and retrieval pipelines.
- Comfortable working in fast-paced development environments and taking initiative.
- Strong knowledge and experience to work with Python and SQL
- Hands-on with AWS or similar cloud platforms; knowledge of cloud architecture (serverless)
- Experience with ML, model tuning, AI/ML ops will be a plus
- Experience with Git, CI/CD tools
- Basic experience in Microservice architecture, web services (Restful API’s).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, communication, and collaboration skills
- Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
